a) $65,000 plus a 9% bonus based on company and department performance. The
corporate performance is achieveable, but not automatic. The department goals
are often achievable. Salaries in I.T. tend to be somewhat lower than average
but higher than most non-profits. I am currently interviewing and seeing
salaries for similar positions about $10,000 greater- I am also just finishing
my
MBA which might affect this. As this is a non-profit company there are no stock
options. There is a 3% 401K match. Up until last week I would have said that
the benefit package is quite rich. However, the benefits were just cut. Short
term disability used to pay 100% of salary for up to six months. This has now
been cut to %60 of salary. The pension contributions have been cut by 25%, and
new employees will not be able to participate. They premiums on health
insurance
have doubled and one of the options was eliminated. 5 years ago there was no
employee contribution to premiums and no copays. Oh well! One consession to
employees is that the average salary increase next year will be raised from 3.5%
to 7%. This is designed to bring salaries in line with other companines...
professionals are currently leaving the company in droves.
