The employees in my department have to pass an initial typing test with 99% accuracy, then a personal interview. After the interview there is a waiting period of about 1-2 weeks before a prospective employee is called for the assesment. The assessments consist of several written exams demonstrating problem solving skills, and business writing skills. Then there are play acting assessments where problem solving, employee relations, and customer service skills are evaluated. Once hired, a 12 week training course to train the employees before actually performing duties. If the training course is not passed then the employee is terminated. BCBS goes through great leangths to be sure all employees hired to work with customers or stakeholders are able to handle all possible situations in a professional manor.
