Fast Paced video rental/retail store. Light Khakis w/dark blue uniform
shirts. 40+ hour work week with opportunity for overtime. Overall
pleasant working atmosphere, however advancement much more difficult
than explained at initial interview. Many district stores w/much
diversity among employees...race, religion, age etc. However, many
deserving employees held back from advancement because of their
diversity. Always a problen keeping middle management positions filled
for this reason among others. Upper management not willing to "take
care" of those who go above and beyond the call. In the eight months of
my employment, there were three paychecks with no overtime. I worked at
eleven different stores in the district to help the company temporarily
fill voids in management...along with two other store not even in the
same district. All of this on my "off" days as I was still on a full
time schedule at my store of residence. The work itself was quite fun,
from a customer and an employee standpoint. The issues in management
however were not. Eventually I had to terminate my employment
voluntarily due to lack of fulfillment on their part.
