| District Training Store Manager |
Blockbuster is a moderate company pretending to be be a a leader. The
hours can be outrageous and the demands on employees reach the border
of lunac when it comes to productivity expectations which continue to
increase while labor hours decrease. They cannot recruit qualified
managers because their pay scale is not tailored to recruit managers
with experience, and if they do snag a good manager they burn them out
with task oriented demands that make they higher paid checkout clerks
rather than managers. They have tried and failed with so many different
ideas in managing the store from the corporate level, mostly because
they have for so long tolerated incompetent managers they have taken
micromanagement to a new level, the mountain of reporting and paperwork
equals that of the federal government. DO YOU WONDER WHY TURNOVER IS
OVER 100% yearly. The human resource department for over 200 stores
consists of 1 Regional HR Manager and a recruiter with no ability to
help anyone due to the micromanagement and need of control by the HR
manager who is never available to employees. You cannot contact HR
directly, only through your district manager.
