They continually say they want to compete in sales of new DVDs, but rather than price their merchandise competitively, they run sales gimmicks. The vast majority of locations do not have the floor space to display their new inventory (rentals and previously-viewed-for-sale take up so much room), and wonder why customers don't want to wait for someone to go searching through 500-1000 titles which are in the stock room, once the desired title is confirmed available by computer. When employees mention this problem, no one listens. The upper echelons really think the reason they don't sell more is because we peons don't work hard enough pushing their promotions.
