Job Title Salary Survey
Associate $125,000 for a first year 130,000 for a second year 135,000 for a third year 150,000 for a fourth year Bingham's salary structure is unusual in comparison to many other firms in that its increases only $5,000 each year until the fourth year. Most big firms increase by $10,000. The result is that a second or third year at Bingham makes less money than their counterparts at big firms. Third year lawyers are particularly penalized because they make $10,000 less than their counterparts. On the other hand, a fourth year associate makes $5000 more than his/her counterparts. This salary structure penalizes second and third years, especially laterals who could choose to go to other firms, and makes it seem that Bingham is not up to speed with the other law firms in the region.
