Job Title Interview Survey
Teacher, Language Arts I called the school district about a week before school was to resume for the year to inquire if they had any open positions. I was in the next day interviewing for three different positions. I first met with the English Language Arts director for the initial interview, where I was asked general questions about teaching philosophy and experience. The real interest was how I would go about the actual teaching process. Next I met with principals from two of the area middle schools, repeating several of the same types of questions. It seemed one of the greater focuses was on class room management. Since Battle Creek Public Schools is an inner-city school system class room management is very important. Finally I had to meet the head of hiring (assistant superintendant)to discuss why I wanted to teach in Battle Creek. After signing a contract I started school the following week.
