There are numerous positive things to say regarding Bank One.
Specifically, the benefits are what one should expect when working for
a top fortune 500 company: health, disability, life, pension, 401k.
However, I continued to work there due to the current weak economy and
was hoping to leave when the economy began to turn around. I found
that management from the second level down was lacking in direction and
had an inability to resolve issues or carry out orders of the CEO.
More specifically, those individuals in management that often CAUSED
the problems (such as the First USA credit card problems or mutual fund
scandals) often retained their jobs or were simply moved to another
position! This has created a constant state of "re-engineering" of the
company during the 4 to 5 years I was there. At no time did anyone
feel their job was secure. In fact, we saw one department cut
everyone, except a few individuals, then say "oops", tried to hire them
back only to let them go again six months later!
If management is changed, not Jamie, but those two levels below him,
then Bank One would be a choice as an employer, however, as long as the
individuals in Columbus still have influence - especially those
individuals from the Wisconsin mergers - then I recommend running away
from Bank One.
With regards to dress code; our department was originally moved to
casual, however, after several women took liberties (open toed shoes),
management decided to punish everyone by force us to go to business
attire. The problem was we never met with clients!!!!!!!
