We currently use STAR interviewing techniques. I took classes for it, and they claim it sorts out individuals based on performance. My rejoiner is that it only works if an interviewee has not been previously exposed to it. I think it gives an interviewee who knows the approach a bigger advantage than those who don't know it. I think it is very difficult for someone who hasn't prepared for the questions to do well. It allows those that have been a major advantage to make up something that sounds good but may have to bearing on the truth.
