Corporate culture is pretty tense owing to downsizing. The business of
the division I am in is very cut throat. We supply the automotive
industry and one day you could have the business and the next you don't.
There are many things that I think are somewhat standardized that the
culture reflects. Examples are online safety training and occational
meetings with the big wigs. There is a very diverse workforce. There are
many different ethnicities
in our home office. In my job the hours are long, and there is no
overtime paid. When I say the hours are long a twelve hour day is about
par for the course. Working at a customers site we always have to be
there before they are there and leave after they leave. Dress code is
casial business, and there are opportunities if you are willing to
relocate. On the down side of that there are many people relocating just
to keep their jobs.
