The company over looked the food services and bookstore for SDSU and a few other
campuses. (San Marcos University, Calexico, Grossmont and Cuyamaca College) The
company
is very well managed and the CEO is an energetic go-getter. The CEO is a
familyman with a
good head on his shoulders. He is very humorous and is always interested in
keeping the
office in a good morale. Employees were always sharing bring in food and making
the morale
very pleasant. There are a few office spaces that were given to department
heads. All other
spaces were cubicals with very little privacy. Noise level was moderate and
music was aloud,
but preferred if you wore head phones as to not interupt other. Some department
heads are
very bitter and over paid. Always seemed like the underpaid did all the work to
keep things
going and were overlooked on their achievements. If the department head was
going to get in
trouble, it was a sure thing that it would fall down the line. Aztec Shops??
retail operations, the
SDSU Bookstore, is one of the largest campus bookstores in the country as
measured by sales.
The store also houses the Computer & Electronics Department, a full-service
computer
hardware and software department. The Computer & Electronics Department offers
significant
academic discounts on the most popular systems from Sony and Apple as well as
the most
current versions of the nation??s most popular software. A broad selection of
school supplies,
cards, gifts and graduation regalia round out the store??s offerings. Aztec Shops
is responsible
for all restaurants and other food service outlets on the SDSU campus. The
corporation
operates SDSU??s Meal Plan Program which allows residence hall students to choose
interesting
and healthy meals from virtually any restaurant on campus.
The corporation has 200 full-time employees and up to 1,000 part-time
employees ?? mainly
students ?? during busiest times. Aztec Shops' annual revenue for the most
recent fiscal year
(FY 2003-04) was more than $50 million. Aztec Shops is also responsible for
all ATM,
vending machines and pay telephone services on the SDSU campus and operates the
SDSU
Bookstore satellite location at the SDSU branch campus in Calexico, CA. Aztec
