The business possibilities for the company rest heavily upon moving the
sales of Aranesp forward. That means competing with J&J for market
share. This is a novel time for the company, as they have really been
without significant competition in the marketplace. Procrit is well-
established, so we must be willing to go head to head with a formidible
opponent, and not waver from our course. At the same time, we must not
forget our previous success with Neupogen, and particularly Neulasta,
and grow that business as well. Morale is varied. There are some who
have been with the company since its inception, and clearly need to move
on. Many of them have done so, but there is a vocal minority who yearn
for the "good old Amgen." The strength lies in the new hires, and in a
group of loyal Amgen employees who have the ability to embrace change
and help move things forward. I will be leaving the company on 7/1--not
because I want to, but because my husband has taken a new position in
Florida, and there was no position for me to move into. But I will make
my Amgen contacts when I arrive in Florida, and hope to rejoin Amgen at
a future d
