Two years ago, a new CEO, Alfred Mocket, was enlisted to turn around
things at AMS and basically position the company for sale. After two
years of cutting costs and streamlining the company, the company was
bought by a large Canadian Company, CGI. The acquisition was completed
in late May and all policies and benefits will become effective August 1.
In terms of detailing what the company is like, it really varies based
on what office you are talking about. While I have been based on an
office in the Western Region, I have had an international assignment and
worked out of 3 different offices in the US. Each office has a unique
culture, dress code. AMSers generally work well in excess of 40 hours,
but that is not uncommon to consulting. In terms of opportunities for
advancement, there has been little because the company has done little
more than just "tread water" in the current economy. Despite the
economic turnaround, little effects have been felt at AMS.
