Diversity: high, racially. No disabled people, and educationally the
place is pretty homogenous (no college).
Hours: supposedly up to you, but you are "encouraged" to work 6 days a
week, at least 8 hours per day. To be "successful" requires 6-7 days a
week, 10-12 hours per day.
Corporate culture: extremely money-focused. Inside the office, it is a
high-pressure sales environment. However, outside of the office, you
are supposed to shun the idea that you are a salesperson; rather you
present yourself as an "enrollment officer."
Dress code: Business casual when meeting prospective customers, but in
the office, ties are required for men.
Opportunities for advancement: based solely on how much life insurance
you sell. You are responsible for also selling other types of
insurance (life and health), but only your ALP (Annualized Life
Premium) sold counts toward advancement opportunities. As a result,
the "managers" are great at sellign life insurance, but all over the
board in terms of any other skills, including the ability to manage
others.
