Mgr. Two rounds of interviews were required; luckily, the 3rd round was deemed unecessary. As other recent postees to this board have noted, Amex continues to use competency based interviewing. For highly skilled professionals, with considerable experience, you can expect to be shocked and offended by the stupidity of some of the questions. Smart interviewers by-pass the basics when dealing w/highly qualified candidates, some do not. Round one interviewing is also quite poor in that you will feel like you are getting grilled w/little to no opportunity to ask questions. If you decide to go back for round 2, it will be much more of a dialogue. I have heard from recruiters that they have streamlined/improved the process quite a bit, but I know of countless cases where good candidates were so turned off after round 1 that they would not come back.
