If my firm's pending merger goes through, it will open a great deal of
opportunities to gain market share on its traditionally oligopolistic
competitors. This firm's management will run the combined operation,
which is also promising. However, there is apprehension as to whether
staff may be asked to relocate as the purchasing company has
infrascructure on other states. As a result, everyone here is trying to
keep their options open. If our corporate headquarters stay in Seattle,
the prospects are bright because the combined firm is planning a major
push to gain market share and so the chance of RIF's is slight.
