Employee morale at Aetna is very low. They offer a bonus program,
however you must be near perfect to receive the money. One screw up and
you can kiss that money good-bye. Employees are treated more like
children than adults. And if you are late for work or have an unexcused
absense for some reason that was beyond your control there is no
understanding by upper management. You are repremanded regardless if
you are out due to an illness or if you just didn't feel like coming to
work. As for the overall business outlook, I personally do not feel
that it is very bright. Aetna may be one of the leading companies in
the health insurance industries, but they are losing more and more
accounts with each passing year due to the large increase in premiums
and the decrease in benefits. As an employee we have one of the worse
insurance packages the company offers, not much incentive for employment
if someone in your family has a serious health condition. All in all, I
would not recommend this company to too many people. If you can handle
being paid a so/so salary, don't have children and feel that you can eat
and sleep Aetna then this would be the place for you. I really don't
understand how Aetna has been named one of the best places to work for
mothers because from my experience as an employee and a mother, my
children are low on the totem pole when it comes to Aetna.
