Remember that this was the height of the Silicon Valley boom -
positions were easy to come by.
2 rounds of interviews - one day with prospective manager (1hr),
prospective manager's peers (1hr each), and several coworkers (30 mins
each). Next round was with department Director (30 minutes).
I remember it being more of a 'fit' interview - my resume was well-
positioned for the opening, and my background credentials were solid.
Specific questions were more to see how well I communicated, determine
my knowledge of the subject area, and how well I worked with others
(hence the interviews with potential peers).
But, please be advised that, as the culture changes, the interviews
will change. Be prepared for 'topgrading' type interviews (from the
book Topgrading), designed to determine your ability to survive and
thrive in the new AMD.
