The typical process includes three interviews: an initial screening
interview, a behavioral interview, and an office visit. In particular,
this is used for college recruiting - experienced hires may differ
depending on the level and location. The screening interview is a 30-
minute discussion, focusing mainly on reviewing the applicant's resume
and basically getting to know the person. The second interview is the
most difficult - it is behavioral, so be prepared to answer questions
like, "Tell me about a time when you and someone you worked with
differed on the approach to take to solve a problem." They will then
drill down to the details with follow-up questions, so the applicant
should have lots of good work/school examples to be able to discuss, and
know them well. If you make it to the office visit, you will most
likely get an offer. I have seen exceptions to this, but the person
really had to screw up not to get the offer.
