Accenture has been going through a hard period over the last few years,
and the employees have suffered as a result. The seemingly never-ending
waves of layoffs have demoralized many employees, as everyone has lost
friends and quality peers. This has also created somewhat of a
competitive culture within the company as people try to come out on top
of the laddering process so they won't be flagged for the next round of
layoffs.
However, despite all this, the work is still interesting and the people
are still challenging and inspiring. I believe leadership is realizing
that there is a culture problem that they need to address, and they have
taken steps in the right direction, such as the "Straight Talk"
initiative. Accenture still has a long way to go in order to build back
the trust among its employees, but I believe we are on our way there.
