Lack of diversity, I was the only woman in my operating group.
Good opportunities for advancement; they promote an 'aggressive
progression' careerpath.
Long hours on a consistent, longterm basis. My average was 60 hours/
week.
Career Counsellor program to guide employees through the organization
in addition to a 'buddy' assigned at your level to help you fit in with
the organization.
Dress code is business casual.
I was dissatisfied with my experience. Within 2 months of being hired,
I was forced out of the consulting workforce into a long-term services
arrangement (5 year client engagement). I would never have accepted
the job had I known I would be moved out of consulting. The attrition
rate was extremely high in my area by the time I left the
organization.
New hires are automatically placed in an operating group when they
join; I had no choice in this matter.
Accenture has an outstanding internal 'knowledge exchange' process that
is immeasuabley valuable when you are starting a new project/
assignment. You may not get much face-to-face guidance, but you will
always have information that is readily accessible to leverage.
I found the people in the Consulting workforce to be exceptionally
bright, engaging, great people to work with on a team. Unfortunately I
could not say the same about people who were part of the Services
workforce. It is just a different calibre of talent with an entirely
different career outlook/ approach.
