There are two Accentures that I remember: the one before going public in
July, 2001, and the one that follows to this day. THe first one for
receptive, considerate and open for everyone to find his/her place.
After Joe Forehand took the company public everything changed: layoffs
without notice, career counselors and mentors not returning your calls,
back-stabbing and disregard for an individual. It is not a healthy
atmosphere any more.
As for hours, they were long on client site (12-14 hr days, often
weekends), but can be less than 50/week internaly. In Chicago dress code
was rather casual, but clients may require you to wear a tie and a suit.
SO many good people in management quit or were laid off that advancement
now proceeds either by having very specialized skills or, mor eoften, by
whom you know. Too bad for a once good company to work for. I cannot
recommend it.
