Accenture varies a lot by region, office, and industry group. In
general, I would describe the culture as being competitive, social, and
young. Dress code has been relaxed to business casual in almost all
offices, although you dress like the client dresses on projects, so if
they are business attire, then you are too. The hours are tough - they
vary a lot by project. You should expect some 45-hour weeks, more 60-
hour weeks, and some 80-90 hour weeks during peak periods. Travel also
inhibits having much of a life outside of Accenture. Again depends on
location and industry, but travel is a must, particularly after the
first couple years. On the positive side, the opportunities for
advancement are definitely there, and Accenture continues to focus on
diversity. If you are performing well, you'll get promoted. It's been
difficult during the economic downturn, but that will change.
