Overall business outlook is good. However, the makeup of the work has
changed significantly. We no longer focus on just systems integration
work. We have branched out significantly to include outsourcing and
alliances. We do not consider the other consulting firms such as KPMG,
Bearing Point, etc, to be our main competitors, although we certainly
compete with them in certain arenas. Our main competitor is IBM. We
also compete on a smaller scale in the outsourcing area with the Indian
consulting firms.
Employee morale is horrible right now. This past September was our
first raise in three years, and it was not enough to catch up with
inflation. The shift to outsourcing work has changed the landscape of
our projects. We have gone through severe layoffs in the last couple of
years, even at the partner level.
