the amount of money designated for R&D each year. The management style
and development of Corp. personnel from within the company many years in
advance, to prevent problems when a high Corp. officer retires. The
Diagnostic Division, a manufacturing site in Irving, as well as R&D;
Sales and Cust. Support, brings all new customers on site to train them
on the particular instrument or instruments that they will be
responsible for. Abbott manufactures medical diagostic equip. for
hospitals; blood banks; laboratories and physician offices. Employee
morale is well as the environment is a "team approach", even across
departments. The company is so well known in the Business World and
respected by everyone from competitors to the entire Business World.
Abbott has a two year Internship where if accepted into the program upon
graduation, Abbott gives each Intern a in depth introduction to every
aspects of the Company and then a joint decision is made after the two
years, where the Intern will best fit into Abbott for a permanent job,
by the Intern and Abbott Management.
