Aflac is a very friendly and wonderful company to work for. The new
staff training is incredible, and they (supervisor's) motivate you on a
continual basis, but it's a hard position to work (especially in a small
town). They tell you that the position is 100% commission, but what
that don't tell you is that it usually takes some time to get clients.
So this means that you are in sales school (one week) and working 10-12
hour days without any pay. I wouldn't mind sticking with it longer if I
was getting some type of compensation. The "higher up's" keep
encouraging you, but sometimes it takes more than encouragement. I've
been out searching for clients, stumbling up on the same "no" that some
of my coworkers have visited. You must have strong endurance and not
let things affect you personally, to succeed. If you have some savings,
and can afford to live without a paycheck for a couple of weeks - I
strongly recommend AFLAC. They have weekly competitions and vacations
that you can qualify for. You don't get any benefits, they all must be
paid for by you. You don't even get a discount on a policy. You pay
the same amount any company with three (3) or more employees.
