I'm technically my own boss because I am an independent sales agent. I
was appointed by the regional sales coordinator in my area. While
weighing a number of job opportunities, I chose AFLAC because I had a
good feeling about this man who interviewed me and about the company.
Both have a lot of integrity. AFLAC offers unique challenges because I
work on commission only. However, AFLAC isn't something I feel like I
have to "sell". I merely educate people on how AFLAC works, and most
people buy. AFLAC is number 1 at what they do. They invented and
pioneered supplemental health benefits and are now #1 in the US and
Japan with over 40 million policyholders.
It's tough like any commission only job. It takes persistence and
dedication. From a philosophical point of view, I prefer this. I hate
jobs where people get paid for slacking off. AFLAC isn't like that.
And the other sales agents in my office are wonderful, helpful people.
It's a great culture to be a part of.
