The overall outlook of Maunsell is one of expansion and diversification.
Now that they are part of the AECOM 'empire' they are trying to
integrate their work with the other streams that AECOM provides. On
tendering for projects, we can now hope to offer a wider and more
comprehensive range of services by involving the other firms that are
part of AECOM. This obviously adds value to the tender and gives us a
greater chance to win work. This is clearly a strength against
standalone competition. However, as a weakness it is important that we
do not lose sight of our core business and attempt to diversify so much
that we lose our reputation for excellence in our own specific industry.
Employee morale is generally excellent. Whether this is a function of
boom times at the moment it is hard to say but the corporate culture
clearly helps with this too. Australians are generally friendly people,
and despite their banter about the cricket(!) it is very easy to get on
with everyone and enjoy life here. They also provide good opportunities
through the Social Club to get out and do things with your work
colleagues.
