| Cashier (service desk employee) |
I'm a former employee who thoroughly enjoyed my time at A.C. Moore. I
started my time with the company working nights, weekends, and holidays
as a regular cashier then was asked to train as a service desk
employee. I enjoyed working the service desk alot. There were times
when it was a little overwhelming because I was the only one there but
practice makes perfect. We had to use the department heads to cover
some register which worked fine when they responded. (Not the managers
fault) The associate managers were knowledgeable and fast when needed.
I liked the dress code alot but thought we should have been able to wear
REASONABLE shorts. Reasonable being no more than 2 inches above the
knee or the Bermuda (which come down below the knee) shorts. I
understand it's hard to regulate that type of thing with teenagers but
if they don't wear the dresscode then they go home to change.
Opportunity for advancement was good. I'm sure if I'd wanted to advance
past service desk I would have been given the chance. I enjoyed being
right where I was. Thank you for the experience.
