I think A.C. Moore is a great store and not just because I worked
there. I'm a crafter from long ago and have always shopped at A.C.
Moore. I didn't even know Michael's existed until it came to Dover,DE.
A.C. Moore challenges the employee's to know as much about the store
products and services as they can. The more the employee knows about
the products, the easier it is to help the customers. I enjoyed
learning new things. Most of the department heads not only know what
their products are but how to use them. Alot of the heads can tell you
about other departments just from having been with the company for so
long. A.C. Moore offers classes for the customers and employees (at a
price) which can enlighten the employees about how to use the products
they sell. The product tapes the employees are required to watch help
by letting us know what products are out there and a basic use of them.
I, unfortunately, had to leave the company for personal reasons and
would like to return since it was one of my favorite jobs but the store
manager has suggested that he doesn't rehire ANYONE. I was a good
employee, punctual, covered my hours if needed, knew the rules, enjoyed
learning about the new products and yet may not be rehired. I think the
store manager needs to consider the rehires on case by case basis. I
think I'm worth rehiring.
