Good school

December 2017 | FORMER STUDENT

Uppers

Dual degree programs, moot court program, staff is very supportive and personable, safe, beautiful campus.

Downers

Its the best law school in the state, but not as prestigious as other schools. If its going to set itself out as having a world class Indian law program, the administration needs to provide more support and not let politics get in the way.

Comments

Really consider whether you want to go into law before committing anywhere. If you're going to go to an in-state school, go here.

Uppers

Friendly, intelligent, and approachable professors that work with you to help you succeed. Everyone in the class is the same way. If you're a "study group" kind of person, then it isn't hard to find the people that are also willing to help you work hard and succeed.

Downers

Frankly, the job prospects and the career development office is relatively weak outside of the Oklahoma area. That said, if you're self-motivated and find yourself in the top 10% then regional firms seem to be willing to give an interview, but you have to initiate the contact. Definitely go somewhere else if you are seeking BigLaw on the coast though.

Comments

If you're a local then the price simply can't be beat. It is true that this a second tier law school, but if you can break into the top 10% then you should do just as well in Oklahoma or Texas as someone that went to a higher ranked school. Grades are everything though, ignore career development when they say that even local firms (Crowe, Mcafee, Hartzog) care about anything other than your grades (at least for 1L year).
