There are many resources available from Cornell. A quiet and peaceful town

Downers

Far away from cities, not so convinient for job hunting

Comments

Consider carefully what do you want from it. A nice place to live, not so nice for jobs

Collaboration & Opportunities

Great employment opportunities, especially for investment banking. Strong alumni network provides a structured, but rigorous recruiting process. Outstanding faculty, providing both theoretical and practical application of business fundamentals (i.e., core curriculum) and functional roles (i.e., immersion) to prepare students for internships and post-MBA success. Small community cultivates collaboration among peers.

Downers

Rural location makes travel difficult for recruiting. Very cold winters.

Comments

Intense core curriculum requires commitment to balance academics and recruiting.

Cornell Johnson Full-Time MBA

Uppers

Extremely strong alumni network; makes job recruiting tough only because of the overwhelming number of options available to students; particularly strong in NYC for aspiring investment bankers, consultants, and tech folks
Investment Banking Immersion rigorously prepares students for summer internships, leading to a higher conversation rate (% who convert summer internships into full time offers) than any other MBA program
Consultants, SGE, Gen Mgmt, etc. also have first year immersions that serve the same function
Tight-knit student body; high quality of life in Ithaca, NY
Very strong diversity communities, e.g. military veterans, latino, lgbt, etc.

Downers

Cold Winters in Upstate NY.
Competitive academically, but the collaborative culture generate overcomes this.

Comments

Study for GMAT, a necessary evil, far in advance of deadlines (for all schools)
Relax & be yourself during interview
Get to know current students, especially those whose career goals align with your own so they can steer you in the right direction early on re: recruiting, etc.
