You definitely don't get the quintissential college experience in many respects, but if that's not your cup of tea, then it may be the right fit for you.

Transfers abroad, location at heart of Manhattan, quality of peers and lecturers.

Downers

Competitive among peers, expensive but is expected of NYC... nothing else really.

Comments

Intense and competitive but it is totally worth it. Lecturers prepare you for the real deal in working world.

Amazing learning opportunities - professors are some of the best in the world and are generally very kind. Amenities and benefits are astounding as well - there are so many things to take advantage of in the way of career help/mental health/overall fun/free stuff that it's nearly impossible to list it all.

Downers

The price of attending this university has gotten to be nearly laughable. As much as I loved it here, do not come here if you are paying more than what you'd pay at a state school. The name gives you a leg up on employment opportunities, but not enough to offset the enormous financial burden accrued by your loans.

Comments

Consider your options carefully, as well as what you'd like to study. NYU is truly a great place, but at a great price. Not the most diverse school either - a lot of really unique people, but overall pretty white and VERY rich. Difficult for someone who is not used to that background.

The place has a vibrant culture and it nurtres the talent in you. There are so many things thatr you can take part in at any given time to expand yourself.

Downers

The fees and livining expenses are a bit high. Also, there is no nyu campus as such so you miss out that true college feel.

Comments

Try to apply early and land a scholarship. Also you can try to get in touch with professors to get TA/RA.
