Here's your chance to test what being a real-life consultant at a top 3 firm is all about
San Francisco, CA | 2013 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

Real life scenario -- on the ground, in the trenches with a client. Always working to solve problems and communicate solid strategies.

Downers

Extremely structured -- almost too much so. Many events were a great chance to get to know partners but there was a lot of pressure to give up Friday nights throughout the summer.

Advice to Potential Interns

Make sure you prepare well for interviews. They are casual, but very intense. All the people that work at BCG are extremely intelligent and love to probe at answers to find the best solution.

Working alongside incredibly bright people, networking opportunities, traveling perks, and events.

Having honest feedback and mentors who are looking to help you develop your skillset.

Long hours and variable workload. Stress of potentially not receiving a fulltime offer.

Advice to Potential Interns

Understand the job for what it is and what it isn't - grasping the reality of the situation will make it much easier to be successful and happy.

Excellent overall, no real suggestions from my end.

There could be more trainings over the course of the internship.

Advice to Potential Interns

The work is very varied, interesting, and challenging in a way that helps an intern to grow and learn very quickly.

Fun, stimulating, learning-filled experience made even better by the people
Boston, MA | 2013 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

Great people; strong emphasis on training, development and feedback; fun atmosphere and very pleasant culture; great planned events.

Downers

Ambiguity about work assignments (at time)

Advice to Potential Interns

This is a great organization with a great summer program. If you decide to intern here (which I recommend), I would come prepared to take charge and ask questions. Asssignments can be ambiguous at times, so it may be up to you to clarify your objectives and complete the task with some (but not overwhelming) guidance.
