About Plante Moran Internship Experiences

Plante Moran is not your typical audit, tax, and business-management firm. We're more.

With more than 2,000 staff working in 22 offices (located in Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio), we have more than 90 years of history in providing outstanding technical advice and dedicated service to a variety of medium-sized, owner-managed organizations, governmental entities, not-for-profit organizations, and financial institutions. We've long adopted the "best of both worlds" approach to serving our clients, combining the technical expertise and resources of a large firm with a client philosophy that puts a premium on outstanding prompt and personal service. Our industry expertise, integrity, innovation, and ongoing commitment to quality have guided our firm to where we are today, the 11th largest public accounting and management consulting firm in the United States.

Our firm has been recognized at the local, regional, and national levels for innovative workplace programs that acknowledge the personal as well as professional commitments of our staff. For 16 consecutive years, we've been named one of the nation's "100 Best Companies To Work For" by FORTUNE magazine - providing unsurpassed opportunity and an unequaled culture to talented, self-motivated individuals who have a passion to serve and a hunger to thrive.

Our internship program thrives to provide networking opportunities, well-rounded business experiences, ongoing feedback to help further develop our interns' careers, and so much more. We value our interns and treat them as new staff. Interns are exposed to an array of opportunities, and each intern will have a Team Partner as well as a buddy, who will help guide them in their career.

Interns will get exposure to an array of opportunities over the course of their internship.

Audit/Tax professionals will participate in many phases of an audit and/or with tax compliance and various projects relative to assigned client engagements. In audit, professionals will be planning, controlling analysis and testing, handling substantive procedures, identifying and assisting in the resolution of client issues, and reporting. By conducting objective diagnostic tests and analytical reviews, the auditor is responsible for the verification of a company's financial records by following Generally Accepted Auditing Principles. In tax, there will be preparation and/or review of corporate, partnership, and individual income tax returns; tax research and preparation of client memorandums; and preparation of quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments. The Consulting and Financial Advisory practices allow interns an opportunity to interact with our Consulting clients and provide guidance and direction to our Clients' needs. We continue to expand our internship program, and have been able to hire talented students who aspire to become successful professionals in their particular area of interest.

The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive. They represent typical elements and criteria necessary to successfully perform the job.

Based upon the nature of what we do at the firm, internships are held during the following timeframes: January through April or from June through August.
