Think about whether you'd enjoy work in the Financial Services industry. We do plenty of other work, but odds are within your first year you'll find yourself on at least one FS project.

Best firm for Financial Services consulting - fun colleagues, fast growth, great pay!

Partner in Financial Services | Boston, MA | 2016 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Smart and fun colleagues; influence industries with important & challenging projects; fast growth (for the firm and personally); great pay

Downers

Internal organization becoming more "complicated" as we grow

Intellectually curious firm that lives of which it speaks.

The people

Downers

There are no "worst things" or I wouldn't have stayed here as long as I have. However, I would like to see more female representation in our leadership but I don't think OW is behind our competitors on this. We have a very capable, growing mid-level group of female Engagement Mangers and Principals that will close the ranks soon.

Comments

Oliver Wyman is a place for confident, motivated individuals. If you are simply looking to add a name to your resume, we may not fit the bill (but for those who know us, the name is highly regarded!). However, if you are interested in working with fantastic people who have direct impact on the clients and the industries that we serve, you will be glad you joined us.

Downers

The "crunch time" weeks can get long.

Given what I've heard from friends at other consulting firms, our work-life balance is more manageable--at Oliver Wyman, weekends are pretty much sacred. On top of that, Oliver Wyman puts a huge amount of effort into cultivating our personal development and maintaining a fun and close company culture. All of this together creates an awesome environment for anyone that wants to get into consulting and develop their business skills in the process.
