Health Advances is viewed as a leader in the industry. They have the focus to know each area of healthcare inside and out, but the breath of experience to be able to complete projects across the healthcare and life sciences industry. They are a strong committment to internal training and invest a lot of time and effort into their employees.

Comments

For advanced degree holders in the life sciences, Health Advances offers an opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive (if fast-paced) environment. Your professional development will be tailored to your abilities and aptitude for consulting, and progression is not limited by having a PhD (several senior-level consulting staff hold PhDs).

The best aspects of Health Advances are the early responsibility, friendly and open firm culture, and incredibly knowledgeable colleagues.

Downers

The worst aspects of the firm are the somewhat unpredictable late nights and the inability to specialize due to the firm's push to stay as broadly based across devices, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals as possible.

Comments

Health Advances has an extremely competitive compensation package compared to similarly sized healthcare strategy firms, provides a dynamic environment, and encourages early responsibilities that are likely unrivaled in from our competitors.

Prior to the interview candidates should have clear answers to the questions:

Why consulting?

Why healthcare?

Why Health Advances?

They also need to have a minimum amount of understanding of the healthcare space to demonstrate interest beyond the resume. Candidates should know what a medical device versus biotech company does. Know what the difference between a biologic and small molecule is. Know who the FDA is, what they do, and how they impact the business of healthcare.
