Uppers

Firm culture. Compensation. Many vacation days.

Downers

Work/life balance. Long work hours. Short deadlines.

Great job to have is school is your next move, but other exit opportunities take a lot of effort.

The people are fantastic and the firm is really committed to the people.

Downers

The work can sometimes be mindless and exit opportunities, aside from school, are not great.

Comments

If you are strongly considering attending school after working for a few years, then I can't think of many better places. You will not often work long hours, you will be well compensated, and you will be surrounded by many great people.

The opportunity to grow my career alongside excellent colleagues who have supported me every step of the way.

Midlevel in Human Resources | Washington, DC | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

People, teamwork, ability to work on exciting projects

Downers

Divide between corporate/admin and consulting staff

Comments

As with any experience, you get out of it what you put into it. If you come with an open mind to learn, a desire to interact with great colleagues and a strong work ethic - you have the potential to get a lot out of this experience. There are a bunch of opportunities to have fun and build camaraderie, and the work (whether consulting or corporate/administrative) has the potential to be really exciting.

A Good First Job Out of College

Entry-level in Economic | Palo Alto, CA | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

The people - supportive, knowledgable

Downers

The variability in work - sometimes interesting, sometimes not, sometimes too busy, sometimes not

Comments

It's a solid place if you are interested in learning for the sake of learning. Your coworkers are your teammate not your competitor. If you are looking for an ultra-competitive/fast-paced place, this is not the right place.

The culture is definitely the best part of working for Cornerstone. I like the supportive environment and the non-judgemental way colleagues respond to questions.

Speak to people working at the firm or people who have previously worked at the firm. Find out why they chose it, what they liked and didn't like about it, and if they think the experience aligns with your goals.
