Economic consulting is a bit of a niche industry, but the skills that you'd learn at Cornerstone go far beyond that industry. Cornerstone exposes analysts to a wide variety of industries and topics, which is both interesting and informative. Additionally, the excel, SAS, and other coding skills are very useful in other positions. Further, the expert and client interaction helps you gain experience working with clients in different fields, and the management skills gained from managing small teams of less experienced analysts to whole case teams is also extremely valuable.

The culture and the type of work.

Downers

Due to the type of consulting, sometimes hours can be unpredictable.

Economics consulting is a great field because it uses academic rigor to address interesting problems in litigation. I have had discussions with friends at other economics consulting firms, and I believe that Cornerstone is definitely the best.

What matters more than anything else in considering this job is an interest and appetite for new experiences, knowledge, and opportunities. you can learn the financial, statistic, and other techniques we use fairly quickly if you have the desire to do so. That desire and mentality is essential.

The culture (I don't like the word because it's cliched, but it's true in this case)

Downers

There are sometimes long hours for work.

Choose your job based on the people you will be working with. Any work can be interesting if your co-workers are passionate about what they do and where they work. Cornerstone Research stood out to me when I was looking for a job, which is why I chose it. I haven't been disappointed.
