Working at Bates White is a continual learning experience. With so many experienced and knowledgeable people including many with graduate degrees, everyone has something to teach you. The firm is very supportive of seeing employees learn and grow, and management is very willing to accept and work with new ideas contributed by anyone at any level. You learn to work very well in teams and build broad and extensive data and research skills in addition to whatever niche you end up specializing in.

Comments

As with all other economic consulting firms, Bates White is very data-intensive. You will be given opportunities to learn new programming languages, work with new and confidential data, learn about various industries, contribute to writing reports, and take ownership of what you have done. Unlike some entry-level positions, all of the work you do is very relevant and could easily be included in a final report that will go into court. It is often high-pressure and high-stress, but the company really tries to provide a work-life balance during and after work hours.
