In my third year, I get exposure to clients and am able to take on more responsibility than mid-level members of competing banks.

Piper does not have the same name brand recognition that larger competitors do but from a sheer deal experience perspective, Piper employees are more deeply exposed to their transactions than counterparts at other firms.

Because the associates are usually business school grads with no prior banking experience, working with them is often challenging.

Piper Jaffray is committed to finding the right people. We are more focused on finding someone that fits the group well as opposed to someone who answers the technical questions correctly. Also, the experience I've received has been great and Piper is also committed to training analysts and giving them the most well rounded experience. Analysts are able to take on a ton of responsibility (including client-facing ones) and really make the 2-year program into what they want it to be.
