Uppers

Opportunity to work on interesting deals, alongside smart colleagues, in an environment that values work/life balance

Downers

More diversity would be ideal (which the firm is actively working on)

Comments

Business outlook is wonderful, with our firm properly positioned to continue to win market share. The firm has been traditionally been focused on retail and TMT, but is expanding its focus to include additional sector coverage and adding senior bankers with relationships in those sectors. Joining PJSC would be an opportunity be a part of a growing platform, while maintaining great work/life balance for the industry.

The people, the lifestyle, the ability to really be yourself at work and not feel stressed

Downers

Vacation policy

Comments

PJSC is a wonderful place to work if you are social, hard-working and eager to work on M&A. Since we only do M&A and have an hourglass firm structure, analysts can have long days and work weekends, but we are also a family, so your time is highly respected. I know that my work is always for something meaningful and that has made my two years here great.

Uppers

Firm culture, ability to take on substantial responsibility (and learn an enormous amount very quickly), pay

Downers

No single aspect that is worse than at other investment banks - vacation policy can be difficult to understand, 401(k) doesn't match - all very minor knits

Comments

I personally believe there is no better place to start your career that offers the mix of above Street pay, early experience, constant learning opportunities, firm culture and highly favorable hours. For those looking to stay and build a career in investment banking the firm outlook following the Natixis partnership is top of the line. For those looking to exit into private equity or hedge funds the exit opportunities are also top of the line. Of the current first year analyst class all analysts that pursued private equity opportunities were able to land a job within a month of the process starting.
