Uppers

Quality of life, compensation, client interaction, high level of responsibility given/expected, opportunity to quickly prove oneself

Downers

Not as much opportunity to work on different projects as expected, small deal teams mean vacations involve some working remotely

Workload can be heavy, but provides excellent learning opportunities. Rewarded for stepping up and working hard. Compensation is excellent for hours worked.

Great culture with upward mobility.

Experienced in Mergers & Acquisitions | New York, NY | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Abilitiy to be promoted. Cash bonus. Strong culture

Comments

Very strong transaction experience and client exposure as a junior analyst. Able to work in multiple industry groups and experience sell side, buy side, restructuring and financing assignments. Good work/life balance and well compensated.

Great people to work with coming out of college where you learn a lot about companies financially and get exposure at an early age

3.6 of 5 stars

Entry-level in Mergers & Acquisitions | New York, NY | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Informal, fraternity like culture working in the bullpen with other analysts your age

Downers

Working hard on projects that go nowhere and other unfulfilling work that you know is pointless. Also losing the core culture as we grow and become more like our parent company

Comments

We are becoming more like a larger boutique investment bank with many verticals. If a candidate likes exposure to different industries, especially infrastructure, energy and healthcare, as that is the direction the firm is expanding, then this would be a good place to go. If not, and a candidate wants more of a TMT, retail or consumer experience, then seek another firm.
