4.8 of 5 stars

New York, NY | 2013 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Culture, exposure to seniors and clients, compensation

Downers

Long hours, as in every other investment bank

Entry-level in Mergers & Acquisitions

4.7 of 5 stars

New York, NY | 2013 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Compensation, personal network (partners take care of junior employees - either pay them or place them in PE / HF)

Downers

Hours / large responsibility given to analysts - high exposure is stressful

Comments

Most candidates that get a PWP offer have competing offers from Centerview, Evercore and Blackstone. Chosing an elite boutique should be based on culture. Comp / hours are nearly identical everywhere, as are exit ops.

Experienced in Mergers & Acquisitions

Uppers

Culture, responsibility, colleagues, balance

Downers

A bit small

New York, NY | 2013 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Very prestigious firm that gets invovled in many high profile transactions. Small firm culture allows for interaction with clients as well as senior bankers/founders.

Downers

Being a smaller firm, we don't cover all industries fully, but that is changing.

Comments

This is a great place to be an analyst, especially if you see yourself moving on to the buyside. PE and Hedge Funds know that they get the best candidates from "elite boutiques" and value the experience gained from working on small transaction teams with a lot of responsibility.
