Highly livable culture and a top tier investment bank. You don't get that anywhere else.

Downers

If you are a senior banker, compensation may be challenging.

Comments

Probably the best place to be an analyst. Top tier investment bank, top tier deals, where you also have excellent access to senior and mid-level bankers. Highly livable culture.

Great people, access to senior people, lots of deal experience and responsibility immediately, extensive and thoughtful training

Downers

Really long hours

Comments

Banking is a tough job, but there's nowhere I'd rather be doing it - the culture and the people are really wonderful. Analysts are encouraged to learn about as much as they can, get lots of exposure to senior people, and are invited to as many client meetings as possible.

Culture and responsibility given to employees early in their career

Downers

Compensation but this is an industry wide issue

Comments

From my experience across several investment banks, analyst or associate are given more responsibility at CS than any other house on the street. Teams are leaner, which means increased work load but also provides for more senior banker and client interaction. No better place for someone to develop professionally.
