Entry-level in Mergers & Acquisitions | San Francisco, CA | 2015 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Leading franchises in specific industry areas (Tech, Lev Fin, etc), and relaxed culture

Downers

It's a European institution with an American investment banking arm. It will always have that long European tradition, but IBD won't be its sole focus and it won't be a "true" investment bank like MS/GS, which can sometimes downplay CS' prestige.

Comments

The people. Work somewhere where you get along with the people. That can be at a competitor or here, but look for that first and foremost.

not US based think puts us at disadvantage from a regulatory standpoint

Comments

workload is manageable -- your day is 6am-6pm roughly, but you leave your work at work (day is over once you go home, and the weekends are yours so good work/life balance); compensation is solid vs. other industries and comparable to other banks; business outlook improving (surviving a tough mkt environment),
