The new Unlimited Time Off policy (within reason)

It is a good firm, I just wish I was more a part of it.

Mid-level in Tax | Charlotte, NC | 2016 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Good working environment

Downers

Too many silos among business lines. If you aren't in the right one, you will not have opportunity depending on who you work for and the circumstances.

Comments

This is a great firm for entry level employees. They are nurtured and mentored. If one is hired with experience, I would not come in at less than the manager level. Senior associates are not welcomed or adequately trained. It is a sink or swim mentality, and I have seen many sink in the time I have been here.

I enjoy the independence and the people I work with, but the necessary hours to put in can be demanding.

The Google of Public Accounting

April 2015 | CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Uppers

The company has a youthful and fun culture; it makes it feel as though choosing an accounting firm is like picking a college. The envirnoment and care for employees is as good as public accounting is going to get.

Downers

Sometimes the systems are a little out of date, and the training is not quite enough for some people.

Comments

It is as good as public accounting gets when you consider large public firms. You won't find a more fun culture anywhere else, with frozen yogurt, snack time, ping pong, foosball, pool, and mid-day yoga classes. Competitive pay compared to big 4, national size, yet small community feel.
