The people. Although we are a larger firm we have the culture of a small firm. As an intern you are able to work directly, and comfortably with the partner. The office is like a small family where you can work with anyone and feel comfortably and feel that you are a part of a great team.

Great.

The people, culture, and the work experience.

Downers

It took a while for me to go through national training.

Comments

The firm is great. As an auditor you get great experience by working on multiple modules for a wide array of both mid-to-large sized clients in both the public and private sector as opposed to the big four where you may get quickly pigeon-holed into working on a specific industry (or in some cases, a specific module) for an extended amount of time. Also, some smaller firms may have you working only on small, private clients with less challenging engagements and sometimes a less proficient accounting staff. I think GT has the best combination of having respectable size and prestige while also allowing its employees to work on a diverse assortment of clientele and procedures.
