Management not always in tune with employees, particularly in the area of work/life balance

Excellent training, fun activities, 401k participation

Entry-level in Tax

4.4 of 5 stars

Palo Alto, CA | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

The flexibility and unique clientele.

Downers

It doesn't offer all the same opportunities as a national firm.

Comments

The workload is lighter than a national firm, but there is nothing stopping you from taking on more. Vacation time and hours are incredibly flexible and generous. You'll get a lot of face time with managers and partners from day one.

The culture

Downers

Location, but only because we are in the Bay Area where traffic is always bad. Relatively speaking, my location is very good.

Entry-level in Small Business Services

4.3 of 5 stars

San Francisco, CA | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Everyone is geniune.

Downers

Firm wise, nothing. Obviously public accounting can be a little stressful anywhere you go. But I do not think it stems from the firm its self.

Entry-level

4.7 of 5 stars

Palo Alto, CA | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

People are smart but down to earth

Downers

less service line

Comments

The firm is great for entry level, lots of learning and attention.

Plot twist: You actually like going to work.

4.5 of 5 stars

Entry-level in Tax | San Francisco, CA | 2017 | VERIFIED EMPLOYEE

Uppers

Culture/community, work/life balance, interesting clients.

Downers

LImited to the Bay Area only (but the firm allows you to work remotely from somewhere else in the country, for the most part, if you want to move)

Comments

Definitely worth testing out a rotational program. I came out of the internship thinking I would go into either tax or advisory/accounting services, and not audit. Now that I've started working full time, I've had to chance to try out additional departments and am able to get more of a feel of what I want to do with my career here.

Entry-level in Valuation Services

4.4 of 5 stars

Uppers

Good people and interesting clients.

Downers

Limited perks and poor direction at times.

For an engaging and meaningful career, working with enthusiastic clients and the best mentors, choose Frank, Rimerman.

The culture here is fantastic. The partners understand what is rewarding to individuals and helps them find/pursue their career goals.

Downers

Getting promoted can be difficult once you achieve manager level.
