Andrew Morkes is a freelance writer and editor in Chicago, Illinois, who has been writing about college- and career-related topics for more than 20 years. He is the owner of College & Career Press. Andrew has written and edited many books for Ferguson's including the Encyclopedia of Careers & Vocational Guidance and many volumes in the Careers in Focus, Discovering Careers, and Career Skills Library series. Catherine Flax is a managing director and the head of Commodity Derivatives & Foreign Exchange, Americas at BNP Paribas. With a 20-year track record in financial services, she has successfully developed strategies to build robust, client-centered franchises. Before her role as head of Commodities, Americas, Catherine was the CMO of J. P. Morgan, and before that she was the head of the commodities business at J. P. Morgan for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In addition, she has acted as global head of J. P. Morgan's commodity finance business, head of global commodities marketing and structuring, and co-head of the energy trading and marketing business. Catherine was nominated as the "Most Influential Woman in European Investment Banking" in 2011 and 2012, winning that award in 2012. She was recognized as one of the "100 Most Influential Women in European Financial Markets" in 2010 and 2011. A long-time champion of diversity, Catherine has served on the Investment Banking Inclusive Leadership Council as well as on the J. P. Morgan Chase Diversity Council. Catherine has a M.A. from Brown University and a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University. She is married with three sons.
