(I just posted this same responsee on another message thread.)
Getting into e-business right now is not as hard as it will be in the future when it becomes ubiquitous, though it might already seem like it.
A top tier school never hurts anyone's chances. However, experience counts for A LOT, and there isn't as much money in e-business as people purport. Many e-businesses will try to buy you with benefits and equity. Just beware that equity doesn't mean ANYTHING until the company goes public. So do your research first about how likely this company is to go IPO.
Also, does your company do e-business? If so, this could be a painless foray into e-business for you. Otherwise, ALL the major banks are going e-business and would appreciate strong financial backgrounds. In these cases, just be aware that they will seek in-house talent first.
Hope this information is somewhat helpful. Feel free to write me at consulting_expert@staff.vault.com
